Here’s the thing. Words matter.
So, we are NOT going to call these insane thugs by the name of our beloved Queen of Heaven anymore.
And we are not going to use the word Islamic in association with them because what they are doing is, in fact, an abomination to the teachings of Islam.
Instead, let’s all learn and use the word that is far and away preferred by the good people in the Middle East, who certainly have a much more intimate knowledge of these killers.
The word is, “Da’esh.” If you pronounce it in slow motion, it would sound like, DIE-yesh. But correctly pronounced in normal conversation, it comes out sounding like DAH-SH. With just a tiny hint of an “I-eee” sound. Not even enough to make a whole syllable.

In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Goddess Isis is called:
She who gives birth to heaven and earth, knows the orphan, knows the widow, seeks justice for the poor, and shelter for the weak.
We would do well to serve Her now in precisely these ways.
